On Saturday, July 11, 2015 Emmanuel College had the pleasure of hosting another wedding for one of its alums, Allisyn Young, Class of 2011.  This was a very special wedding for those of us in Mission & Ministry because Allisyn joined the Catholic Church during her time at Emmanuel through the R.C.I.A. program; which is why it meant so much to her to return to Emmanuel and be married in the Chapel.  Below the couple share their story with us:

Young Piper Wedding July 11, 2015

Allisyn Young, who graduated from Emmanuel College in 2011, met Rory Piper in the summer of 2010. Allisyn and Rory were working at a summer camp in Sharon (@SAWonderland_24) and they quickly discovered each other after a team building exercise that revealed their similarities. Both the bride and groom have a strong Christian faith and want a life filled with love, coffee and a big family.

Rory is from Edinburgh (U.K.) and has just finished medical school there and Allisyn was teaching at an elementary school in Boston, so Allisyn and Rory have dated from a distance for some years. They spent every vacation together.

Rory proposed to Allisyn on December 26, 2013 at the lake in the Breakheart Reservation near Boston and she said YES! Simply put, they are getting married because they feel called to one another by God and they love each other.

They are moving to England, where Rory will start his first job as a Doctor at the University of Cambridge.

Please join us in Mission & Ministry as we offer Allisyn and Rory our prayers and best wishes for their marriage and new life together!
